Oh my, thank goodness Tebo was with me Friday morning. He was certainly my hero (again). I had no clue when we sat down that the monitors would be right there in our faces and I didn't expect to be able to see the pictures they were showing on TV would be right there so immediately the first thing I see before the interview starts are pictures of Chad in Afghanistan and it choked me up. The first question he asked me it was all I could do to choke back the tears and answer. When my voice cracked Tebo knew it was show time for him (bless his heart).
I was tickled with the job the interviewer did and I feel he truly explained what we are ultimately trying to do for our troops. It could not have gone better. One of my sisters came for support and encouraged us both the entire time. Thank you Dawn for being there.
In case you've missed it or would just like to share the link with family and friends and help us get the word out you can go to http://www.myfoxmemphis.com/dpp/good_morning/wings-for-our-troops-gmm-20110930 and check it out.
Thank you in advance for all your love, support, encouragement, and help with getting the word out. Hoorah!

Life
You know, unfortunately things in life happen that really make us take notice of our lives and the people around us. As for myself and my family we continue to get the opportunity to pay attention to these little things. You know, it would do everyone good to remember/realize that life is short and precious and while we may not like how things are going at the moment, it could be far worst. This would be my challenge to anyone reading this. If you are married, love your spouse a little more and find less faults with them. Find the things you appreciate in that person and let them know you appreciate it. Rather than keeping score or wondering who does what first, how about take the opportunity to just love them unconditionally. I would bet that you will get so much more back that you will think you are newly in your marriage again. If you have children, love them a little more. Talk to them. Spend time with them. Find ways to just be together and appreciate and soak up every second you get with them. Even if it's doing homework, make that time the very best time you can spend with your kids. If they are older kids, take every chance you get to talk to them or shoot them little messages just to let them know you love them and you are thinking about them. If you have grandchildren, spoil them! Love them and observe how God has given you yet another little piece of your child through your grandchildren. If you have parents, don't wait until they are sick to call them. Check on them regularly. Let them know they are important and you love them. If you have a best friend, appreciate them. Love them and let them know how important they are to you.
At some point this world has to finally be happy with the life they have and learn to get the most out of it they can and not abuse the fact that we are here. Love who you are and love those who are in your life. You don't want to wait until something bad happens to realize you didn't let them know how much you loved them or do a kind act for them. I truly believe if more people would just stop and realize they have a good life and appreciate what they have and choose to be happy what a different world we would all live in.
I love my husband, kids, parents, siblings, family, and friends and I hope I don't fail to let them know how much I do love them and what they mean to me.
I challenge you... IF you are reading this, love more and appreciate more and want less. The next time you get road rage, pause and consider that the person that just cut you off or seemed rude may have a child fighting for their life in a hospital, or just buried a child, or has a parent that is ill or a spouse that may not make it or just abused them. Don't immediately assume they are just a rude mean person. They may have life changing things going on in their lives at the time and not truly out to just piss you off for the day.
Love the people in your life, please!
